Tropical Sunset Smoothie (Printable)

A bright blend of mango, passionfruit, and orange juice layered with creamy yogurt for a refreshing boost.

# Ingredient list:

→ Mango Layer

01 - 1 cup ripe mango, peeled and diced (fresh or frozen)
02 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
03 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
04 - 2–3 tablespoons water (as needed)

→ Passion Fruit Layer

05 - 1/2 cup passion fruit pulp (approximately from 3 to 4 passion fruits)
06 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
07 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

→ Orange Juice Layer

08 - 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
09 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
10 - 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

# How-to:

01 - Clean three separate blending containers or rinse the blender thoroughly between uses.
02 - Combine mango, yogurt, honey, and water in a blender; process until smooth and thick. Evenly distribute this mixture into the bottom of two clear glasses.
03 - Blend passion fruit pulp with yogurt and honey until creamy. Carefully spoon or pour the mixture over the mango layer to maintain a distinct separation.
04 - Blend freshly squeezed orange juice, yogurt, and honey until smooth. Gently layer this on top of the passion fruit mixture.
05 - Tilt the glass slightly and pour each layer slowly, using the back of a spoon to prevent the layers from mixing.
06 - Optionally adorn with fresh fruit slices or a sprig of mint and serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The layered effect looks like you spent hours on presentation, but it takes just 10 minutes and impresses everyone.
  • Each layer tastes distinct—you get bursts of different tropical flavors with every sip instead of one blended smoothie.
  • It's naturally sweet, creamy, and feels indulgent without actually being heavy or complicated to make.
02 -
  • Frozen fruit makes thicker layers that hold their boundaries better than fresh, and the cold helps everything taste more refreshing.
  • Rinsing your blender between layers is faster than getting three containers dirty, but each layer must be completely smooth or you'll see streaks instead of clean color lines.
  • If the layers do merge slightly, it actually tastes better—the flavors start mingling and create something even more complex than when they're perfectly separated.
03 -
  • Frozen mango creates the thickest layer and holds the boundary best, turning the whole drink into something more substantial and less likely to separate in your glass.
  • The secret that actually changed everything for me was chilling my serving glasses first—just 10 minutes in the freezer makes the layers stay crisp and cold right until you finish drinking.
